CLUSTER MANAGER - TAYLA ALEXANDER-CRAWFORD

Kia Ora! My name is Tayla Alexander-Crawford and I am very excited to be involved in the Summer Learning Journey as the Cluster Manager for the Kaikohekohe area for the summer of 2019-2020.

I have just finished my first year of my masters in educational psychology, and I am really looking forward to spending time working in Northland over summer. I love the beach and all the beautiful places in Northland, so I am excited to do more exploring! I have just started learning how to skateboard, so I am also going to give surfing a try this summer.

I love to travel and last year I spent three months travelling around Europe. I am excited to be spending time at home this year though, and getting to know Northland (and its schools) better! I can’t wait to meet everyone involved in the programme and share the journey with you.

BLOGGER - DANI STEPHENS

Kia Ora,

My name is Dani Stephens, I’m a Year 5 & 6 teacher in South Auckland. I am thrilled to be back as a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey, this will be my third year!

I live in Auckland with my partner and our fat ginger cat. I love staying active by going on bush walks and hikes as well as playing indoor netball with my friends. I spend my spare time hanging with friends and being in the kitchen; I love cooking and baking for my friends and family.

I grew up on a massive beef farm in Okaihau in Northland, where I spent most of my days exploring the farm and swimming in the river with my younger sister. Two things I miss about Northland are the beaches and how peaceful it is compared to Auckland!

I’m very excited to be part of the Kaikohekohe cluster for another summer of the Summer Learning Journey.

BLOGGER - OLIVE VAN DE KLUNDERT

Kia ora!

My name is Olive and I'm currently at Auckland University studying primary school teaching. I've just completed my first year and I can't believe how fast it's gone!

I live in Auckland with my family, including my little brother Harrison (8yrs)! I'm staying here until I finish my degree, then it's off to Wellington to study Educational Psychology!

My brothers and I always joke that we grew up on an airplane! Just kidding, not really! But we have lived in lots of different countries... China, England, Germany just to name a few! Moving is now more familiar that staying in one place so my challenge is not getting bored in Auckland.

In my spare time I collect cacti and paint on jeans. I love reading about Greek mythology and playing soccer at our local park (Maungakiekie).

From what I've seen of Northland, it's amazing! I love the beaches, especially swimming in the ocean. My boyfriend's family and I sometimes spend the summer in Whangarei Heads!

I'm super excited to be a part of the Summer Learning Journey!
