The trees from the lot South of the cabin periodically crashed into the cabin or on our neighbor's property. Here are photos from when Dave and Barbara made a Christmas trip to the cabin in 2001 in order to clean up a tree that had blown onto the cabin, punched a hole in the roof and broken one layer of glass in the kitchen window.
Barb surveys the remains of the tree. At this point we have already cut it down and removed it from leaning on the cabin.
The kitchen window took a real hit. Fortunately, only the outer pane of the double-pane window broke so we removed the glass shards called the "repair" good enough.
The tree punched a hole in the attic roof... and a kitten poster got ripped.
Dave looks in thru the kitchen window.
