Will of the Reverend Henry Riley 18th September 1848 proved 8th May 1849

In the Name of God Amen I Henry Riley of Spetisbury House in the parish of Spetisbury in the County of Dorset Clerk do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows I direct that all my just debts funeral expences and the costs and charges attending the proving of this my Will be paid by my executors hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be done next after my decease and subject to the payment of the same respectively I hereby will and bequeath to my great nephew Henry Riley son of my nephew Henry Riley of Burnley in the County of Lancaster the sum of five hundred pounds In Trust to my executors named hereafter until the age of Twenty five the interest of the said five hundred pounds to be ….sted to the benefit of my said great nephew Henry Riley in any manner that my executors hereafter named may think proper I bequeath to my nephew Henry Riley of Burnley in the County of Lancaster the sum of fifty pounds and my wearing apparel I will to my dear brother James Riley of the Parish of Brimble in the County of Lancaster the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds I bequeath to my sincere and valued friend the Reverend Leonard Calderbank of Spetisbury House in the Parish of Spetisbury in the County of Dorset the sum of three hundred pounds free of legacy duty I will to my faithful servant Charlotte Bugdon the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds free of Legacy duty I will to my beloved sister Ann Marsland wife of James Marsland Engineer of Burnley in the County of Lancaster nineteen pounds I bequeath to my dear sister Jane Weldon the wife of William Weldon of London nineteen pounds I will to my beloved niece Frances Marsland the wife of James Marsland Junior of Burnley in the County of Lancaster the sum of nineteen pounds And I do hereby give and bequeath the Remainder or Residue of all my goods and chattels estate and effects of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever unto my dear nephew James Marsland Junior of Burnley in the County of Lancaster for his own sole use and benefit and herby revoking all former and other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be my true last Will and Testament and do moreover nominate the said James Marsland Junior the sole Executor and Residuary Legatee thereof In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name this eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight Henry Riley

Proved at London 8th May 1849 before the Judge by the oath of James Marsland the younger the nephew the sole executor to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to Administer
