A Midsummer Night's Dream

Special Events For This Production:

* There is a Dinner Theatre option for the Saturday, 3/16 performance! Tickets are $29 for adults and $27 for students/seniors. Dinner theatre tickets come with a fancy champaign chicken dinner, dessert, and prime center-section seating for the show. * All nights of this production will feature music composed by our very own band teacher, Mr. Peterson.

* The Thursday, 3/24 performance will be recorded by Town Square TV, so be sure to come that night to be a part of our live TV audience!

William Shakespeare's classic comedy about love and art and other silly dreams will come alive on the South St. Paul High School stage! This hilarious romp features not one, but four interwoven stories:

* Theseus tries to woo Hippolyta after she has been forced to marry him because her Amazons lost a war to Theseus' Athens;

* Two sets of young lovers try to sort themselves out by going into the woods;

* A group of ill-educated working-class stiffs try to put together a play to perform as entertainment for the royal wedding; and

* Oberon, the king of the fairies, is fighting with Titania, the queen of the fairies, are having a custody battle over an adopted child.

All four groups, of course, end up in the woods where chaos ensues. By the end though it all works out after a fashion, and of course there will be a wedding at the end. Maybe even more than one....
