For production date starting 6/21/2010 and later the fluid is blue and its part # is 001 989 78 03 09

Vehicles with 722.9 trans up to production date 6/21/2010 get the fluid decribed below:

722.9 Transmissions take fluid # 001 989 68 03 10. This is MB spec 236.14 and is also called ATF 4134 or ATF 134.

The fluid is backward compatible and acceptable in 722.6 transmissions as well

Currently the best price is from SSF selling under the Fuch brand.

For the earlier 722.6, ATF 3309 is acceptable as well.
