The Professional Support Unit (PSU) is a free service primarily dedicated to supporting the progression of postgraduate training for NHS healthcare professionals. They work independently of Specialty Schools, training Programme or Trusts and can offer confidential and impartial support or advice for those who need it.
The London & Kent, Surrey and Sussex Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT) programme aims to support all trainees to safely and confidently return to training after a sustained period of absence.
There is up to £3000 available from HEE to support shadowing, supernumerary on-calls, courses and relevant experience prior to your return and during the first 4 weeks.

The PDTs first point of contact is their educational supervisor (ES) or training programme director (TPD) throughout the return-to-work process. However, if additional guidance and support is required PDTs, educators and other staff can contact their local SuppoRTT Champion and the SuppoRTT team.
