Young's modulus

Strain and stress are proportional.

The constant of the proportionality is called Young's modulus.

The relationship of

Young's modulus: E [Pa] or [N/m²]or [m⁻¹·kg·s⁻²]

Stress: σ [Pa] or [N/m²] or [m⁻¹·kg·s⁻²]

Strain: ε dimensionless, often described in %.

is E * ε = σ.
