Completed SMG 2022 Projects

1)  Deshler Field House, Project Leader Martha Black - COMPLETED! Thanks to all volunteers!

2)  The Healing Place, Monday, May 23, 2022, 7:30AM. Address is 2409 Wildwood St, Muscle Shoals, AL just off the corner of Wilson Dam road and 2nd St., We replaced mulch in the front beds and worked the side beds, including trimming and weeding. Project Leader Kaye Hillis 

3)  Rogersville Public Library: Tuesday May 24th 8AM until 10 or 10:30AM, 74 Bank Street, Rogersville, Please bring your clippers, gloves, maybe a rake. All clippings will be put on a tarp and then into a truck bed for removal. Bottled water will be furnished. Your help with this project for our library is greatly appreciated. 6) ACES Office Landscaped Beds Fall Freshening, Oct. 25, 2022, 9-10am, Make the ACES office grounds look nice, plant a bunch of pansies Project Leader Wray Dillard

Spring Park, 2022

Dwight James took on this project as a Master Gardener intern in 2019 and has been doing seasonal plantings at this site ever since. This year, the project included soil replenishment, replacing missing bricks, new plants, and repainting the sign.

Tuscumbia Landscaped Beds, 2022

The Shoals Master Gardeners held a workday project on Monday, November 28th to prune and remulch two landscaped beds at the intersection of 6th Street and the Commons in Tuscumbia.

The City of Tuscumbia provided a truck, trailer and traffic cones to block the middle street through the two beds.

Miracle Worker Stage Area, 2022

The spring 2022 intern class transformed an area near the stage at Ivy Green, the Helen Keller Birthplace in Tuscumbia, AL. This included creating new beds and improving existing beds, managing weeds and water drainage, and planting.
