WORK DAY AT HELEN KELLER LIBRARY
A hardy band of Shoals Master Gardeners showed up at the Helen Keller Library this morning early and 2 hours later, clean beds, trimmed shrubs and even a dead snag sawed down and hauled off........what a group!
UPDATED MASTER GARDENER OFFICE
The Shoals Master Gardeners now have a new and expanded office in the Lauderdale County Extension office. Two new desks have been setup as well as the one desktop computer and one landline phone. The other Hotline phone is yet to be hooked up. Our goal is to reestablish our presence by manning the office and assisting the staff answering consumer questions!

POT COLLECTION FOR NEXT YEAR
We are making plans for next years plant sale. We need pots! Please collect and save any pots you know of. We will clean and store them for next year.
EXTENSION WORK DAY -
Master Garden volunteers worked on the beds at the Lauderdale County Extension office. Beds were weeded, shrubs trimmed and new plantings completed.

January Meeting -
January Meeting was our 2024 awards ceremony
Congratulations to all the award winners. Pictured- Paula Kelley (Top Hours winner), Stace Holcomb and Allyssa Michael (Friend of the Master Gardener), Michael Stamps and the ARC for Project of the year, Kaye Hillis (AMGA Jean Lee Lifetime Hours Award nominee), Sally McGuire (Presidents Award), Viva Vaden ( most CEU's), and Penny Townsend (Master Gardener of the year)
Shoals Master Gardener Rudi Pillow hosted our first plant dig of 2025 early Friday January 17. Lead by Viva Vaden the results were a lot of Lenton Roses, Wood Ferns, Solomon Seal and Gooseneck Loosestrife. Then an excellent group appeared at the greenhouse for a potting party!

"Many hands make light work".... It was a very successful potting party on Friday December 13th. at the Master Gardener greenhouse.
Over 260 freshly potted irises of various colors were recently donated!
Shoals Master Gardeners inaugural "pot washing" to get all the pots ready for next years Plant Sale.
The Shoals Master Gardeners had a very large group to attend the Blount County Master Gardeners Fall Conference!
The conference was titled "WHERE THE NATIVES HAVE GONE"
September Meeting
Our September meeting was led by Gigi Bullman who spoke on Antique roses.
