The third 3D project was inspired by the artist, Alexander Calder. The students began the project by going to the library to research the artist and his work. The ten point handout is attached below for those who missed class. Basic materials were available to the students, such as poster board, some wire, beads and hot glue. Problem solving, form, function, color, positive and negative space were all facets of design to be considered.
Alexander Calder was an American sculptor known as the originator of the mobile, a type of moving sculpture made with delicately balanced or suspended shapes that move in response to touch or air currents.
