Annika's lamp wins a 2016 Scholastics Silver Key Award, and will be shown at the Denver Art Museum.
Student Process:
Goals: Night light lamps will be created using a combination of recycled, and purchased electronic materials.
The project began with the students making handmade paper to be used for the lamp's shade. Then, twigs were arranged to create a frame for the shade and the paper was carefully arranged to create a unique light fixture.

Objectives:
1. The student will be able to make handmade paper for the shade that can transmit light when the bulb is on, and the room is dark.
2. The student will be able to create a frame using twigs.
3. The student will be able to create in response to the paper made and the natural materials provided.
4. The student will be able to create a lamp to look good in two conditions: 1. the light source on, and the room is dark, 2. the light source is off, and the room is light.
5. The student will be able to apply attention to detail and good craftsmanship.
