The students began the project by going to the library and researching Oaxacan Wood Carvings. Then, they began sketching their own versions of Oaxacan-style creatures. Their favorite concepts were developed three-dimensionally using papier-mâché.
Start to Finish:

Josh's flat fish, Tavian's shark and Peter's monkey.
Helen's octopus; she gets the award for the most challenging sculpture to paint!
