Locate and Identify Speaker
SensoSmart uses multiple microphones to detect the location of the person who is speaking and discretely indicates to the user which person is speaking. This feature is extremely helpful in social, educational, medical, and business situations.
In a business meeting, if a person has hearing loss in only one ear, even the fanciest conventional hearing aids cannot assist the listener in locating or localizing the person who is speaking. In addition, labeling the person who is speaking can assist a person who has high frequency hearing loss for whom it is difficult to discriminate people by recognizing voice or by recognizing gender. Identifying the speaker makes this feature very helpful in conference calls, VoIP, and many other situations.
Many assistive apps can be combined with speaker location to provide personalized services. For example, dynamically tailoring features to a given speaker who is already registered can improve performance.
