Resourcing the body is supportive and helps us process life

What do you want?

Keeping the brain afresh while aging is no small task. Can u keep the learning going through your body? Somatic movement or movement with awareness is an intention based practise that can help you invite flexibility in your spine and loosen physical, emotional and mental knots that we tend to store in our body, for a more comfortable and creative life experience.

The first step is one you take and then remain open to explore and be playful and patient. Pushing yourself in somatics does not work. We work with the nervous system and sensations around safety, grounding and nourishment.  Engage with the process of healing trauma,  connecting to desire and resourcing your movement skills. We practise our attention and capacity to shapeshift. It is a process of reconnecting the central nervous system to our periphery by passing through the neurocore.

Almost everyone needs to release stress in the diaphragm, shoulder girdle and pelvic floor.  We work with attention, voice, touch and gravity to bring back our sense of self, stimulate the vagus nerve and rebalance.

Moving your attention

Learn to understand your body needs and the compensatory patterns that might be inhibiting healthy repair and functional movement in your body.  Getting to know your body and movement with awareness is a process that will affect your nervous system towars a more peaceful mind so you can enjoy daily life and sports activity with more energy and resources.

Making the first step starts with knowing what you want. And seeking movement experiences with talented teachers.

Embodiment skills help you

Coming back to the body

Coming back to the body is a huge resource. I teach movement with awareness and understanding of how the nervous system regulation affects cognition,  postural tone and organ function. By using movement, sound and touch that calm the stress response we release tension in the nervous system which then downregulates tension in overworked muscles.  If muscles are tense all the time it causes joint and nerve compression. It also  inhibits cellular repair and leads to low grade inflammation in the fascia further exasperating chronic pain and affecting sleep, cellular repair and healthy digestion. Cellular repair is a fancy way of describing the need of tissues to access nutrients and  eliminate metabolic waste through the flow of interstitial fluid. Neuro fascial training and self care is the most important aspect to healthy aging, posture, adaptability to stress (heart and circulation health) and joint dynamic stability.

Coming back to the body is a sentient way of rebalancing the mind. Trauma, repeated and prolongued stress affects many people and it causes for people to dissociate from their body or parts of it.  If we cannot feel parts of our body we stop using them in our movement and that affects our cognitive and functional movement forward

Embodiment is a way of practising coming back to the body. To feel and move through integrating body and mind. It isa  powerful experience of letting go into fluidity. own

Releasing Stuck Stress in the Body

Dealing with stress is tricky. It settles into your nervous system and affects cognition, posture, joint health, quality of sleep and digestion.

When you practise with me you will learn how to adapt and move through progressions to achieve dynamic joint stability, embodied awareness and ability to process tensions that accumulate in the body through daily life, traumas and injuries. The body is resilient if you know how to approach it and feed it functional movement resources.

Moving Meditation

We work with moving our attention and in the process softening our skill to work with intention and reconnecting our the body and mind.  This is called a somatic practise. Somatic movement helps us shift towards pleasure in the body and mind and away from sensations of feeling stuck, tight, anxious and exhausted. These feelings are natural responses to stress but with a healthy movement practise you can learn to process and release negative sensations, care for your joints and understand how to satisfy your needs for safety, nourisment and support in the autonomic nervous system through your movement practise.

Rebalancing the Neuro Core

Coming back to the body through movement with awareness helps rebalance the neuro core and improve the  functioning of your respiratory, endocrine and circulation system. It will greatly enhance your wellbeing and capacity to deal with daily stress and extreme situation as current and past traumatic events. But you need to practise to gain those resources so you can tap into them when pushed in extreme situations.

Hydration of Fascia

If u have tightness in your neck, shoulders and hips you are moving with compensations and compressing the spaces in your connective tissue where neuro receptors live. Tightness, sleep issues and problems with digestion are pre pain signals that your connective tissue needs some support. Time to self care for your fascia.

Dehydration of your fascia will affected the tone of your autonomic nervous system.  Emotional and psychological stress also affects the structure of our connective tissue. Hydrating your fascia through movement helps reverse and slow down aging of tissues and joints and undo the negative impact of stress. Stress  in the body will affect your chemistry, cognition and quality or life.
