SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – The Lady Vikings Lacrosse Team started its season with a dominating win over the South Plainfield Tigers 18-6 at home Wednesday.

Alyssa Ryan and Shannen Sterner each scored four goals, followed by Emily Lorber with three and Caroline Hvozdovic with two goals.

Hvozdovic also contributed seven assists in the victory.

Ten Vikings scored during the match on 30 shots.

For the Tigers, Ashley Veliz scored four times and Michaella Butrico added the other two goals on a total of 16 shots.

The Viking offense put up 11 in the first half alone, compared to just one goal for South Plainfield.

The Tigers scored five times in the second half, but were still outscored in that period by the Vikings seven goals.Defensively, Meg Foster logged seven saves for South Plainfield while Dakota Apicella notched four saves for the Vikings. South Brunswick’s Lauren Bunch and Maddie Reichbart each logged a save as well.
