SBHS Vikings Girls Lacrosse Coaching Staff

Varsity Head Coach

Coach Edwards is a Health, Driver Ed., and Physical Education teacher at South Brunswick High School who has been coaching lacrosse in South Brunswick since 2006 following his graduation from Springfield College. He started his career as the boy's lacrosse coach at Crossroads Middle School in 2007 and moved over to the girl's program at SBHS in 2010 when he began teaching at the high school. He is US Lacrosse silver-level certified and was named NJ.com GMC coach of the year in 2018. He is extremely proud to have coached with the Lady Vikings through part of an incredible 64-game GMC conference winning streak, as well as during five GMC finals appearances and three championships! He looks forward to continuing the tradition that is Vikings Lacrosse. 

Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Bravo is a Health and Physical Education teacher at SBHS, who is proud to continue her lacrosse coaching experience at South Brunswick High School developing younger players and helping new players get their start!  During her high school career, she played midfield for Robbinsville High School’s Varsity lacrosse program, leading the team in assists during her senior year. She graduated from TCNJ. She is also the Varsity girls' soccer coach at SBHS. 

Junior Varsity Coach

SBHS is proud to have another alumni come back and coach in our program! Shannen played 4 years of varsity and amassed 122 goals and 32 assists during her career. She went on to play at Rowan University where she did an outstanding job at midfield for the Profs.

Former Coaches:

John Coppola- Coach Coppola stopped coaching the Vikings in 2014. The SBHS Hall of Fame coach amassed over 100 victories, and 5 GMC championships during his tenure as head coach.

Shannon O'Brien- Coach O'Brien coached with the Vikings from 2014-2023. She is an alumnus of the SBHS Girl's Lacrosse program and continued her lacrosse career at Rowan University. During her collegiate career, Coach O'Brien played midfield and was a 2-year captain. In Rowan's program, she holds the record for all-time single-season draw controls with 131 and holds the record for career caused-turnovers with 76.  She coaches with Five Star Lacrosse and local club teams in the off-season.
