The śata patha chakra is from Swara shastra portion of Jyotish, This chakra shows the phonemes assigned to each nakshatra pada. This assignment is also used in Sarvotobhara chakra, Hoda chakra and other swara chakras. The Jyotish students can get acquainted with this chakra, to know the phonemes assigned. The 10x10 lines gives hundred units and hence this chakra gets this name. These hundred units are again grouped in clockwise manner as 5x5 blocks of four. The central cells in 5x5 block always fall in center of dual signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. These central cells contain a whole nakshtra whereas the other cell contain only one pada. In this chakra the Abhijit nakshtra is also divided into 4 padas. Each of the 5x5 block columns is given Balaadi avasthas of Bala, Kumara, Yuva, Vriddha and mrita (child, teen, youth, old and dead). These indicate the energy levels of various nakshtra padas. The center of 5x5 group is Yuva or Youth contains the maximum energy. ?More can be read from Jataka Saara deepa.
