Dear Jyotisha, There are many jyotish computer softwares available. But when you are doing research on some calculations these jyotish softwares will not be able to provide them. Then you have to use plain old mental or paper calculations. When you come to that stage a Calculation Sheet will help you (Excel Sheet). I am attaching one such sheet which I use.
I have called to Hora Ganaka (Ganaka mean calculator).

.ODS is open document sheet format. You can use StarOffice or OpenOffice to read and edit the file. The sheet was developed in ODS so it's recommended format.
.XLS is Excel Sheet format. Since it's converted from .ODS there maybe some mistakes in conversion where you will see #NA or such text in some cells.
