The Objects of the Association are:
a) To promote the sports of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, their powered equivalents, and other craft governed through SAFA in the state of South Australia and the Northern Territory.
b) To encourage, foster and engender within the SAHPGA a culture of safe flying and associated activities. This includes maintaining the safety of the public and showing respect for public property at all times - in order to minimise harm or loss - and to maintain and enhance the reputation of our Sports.
c) To maximise flying opportunities for members by seeking and maintaining flying sites through appropriate liaison with government, council, and private landholders
d) To cooperate with other bodies with similar aims of promoting hang gliding, paragliding, and allied sports and activities.
e) To enhance the experience of the Sport for members through increasing knowledge and skills as possible within the training frameworks permitted by SAFA, and facilitating social events for the enjoyment of members.
f) To encourage and support participation in organised competition by members and teams - and promote interaction with other sport/ aviation-based organisations – within SA, NT and Australia.
g) Undertake and or do other things or activities that are necessary, incidental or conducive to the advancement of these Objects.
