To learn NL you will need to purchase the HG or PG wing and also the power unit that would match it.

  • Cost To Buy New Equipment
    • Buying new equipment is nice but not essential, if you do then
      • For the cost of a shiny brand new HG or PG glider see the HG .
      • A new HG power unit would cost approximately xxx

    • Remember that a glider and a harness will give you enough to fly for a long time. As your flying becomes more extensive you may wish to purchase more equipment
      • A parachute should be first on your list, brand new this is about $500 to $1000, most people often think about buying one after their first really high flight
      • Instrumentation such as altimeters variometers, gps systems, radios, etcetera ( you can go to town on these) but they will not initially be needed,
        • Always remember that to fly, these are secondary needs
  • Cost To But Second Hand
    • Buying Second hand can save you money, it is recommended that you buy from well known dealers or from the advice of more knowledgeable pilots
      • A second hand glider may be 1K to almost new price depending on condition age
      • A second hand harness can be $100 to $500 depending on type and condition
