After graduation you will have become a member of the national HG/PG/ML body SAFA or RAAus depending on your chosen aircraft
SAFA (formerly HGFA) is the national body overseeing HG, PG, and PHG, PPG in Australia -- http://www.safa.asn.au
You will pay a Federal Fee to SAFA to cover Insurance and SAFA administration.
The SAFA is responsible for
Interfacing with the Civil Aviation authority (CASA)
Obtaining Insurance for members
Regulating Schools and Training systems,
The SAFA web pages have resource links to schools through out Australia -
You will need to join your State Association
For SA & NT pilots the SAHPGA Inc is your state body
for HG, PG, PHG, PPG , PL, ML,
you have already found the public SAHPGA Pages, but we also have members only pages with sites and other information which we can provide access to you when you become a member,
You will pay a RDL/ state fee of approximately $70 -
the RDL /state fee (as per the last 20 years) is payed when you pay the SAFA membership
The RDL is redistributed back to the states so you do not have to do this separately
You do have to nominate SAHPGA Inc as your local club in the SAFA online forms
You do have to contact us so we can help you.
Payment of this RDL fee is considered by SAHPGA inc to be payment of membership.
SAHPGA is responsible for basically anything that the association/club members want to support and representing you in all aspects this includes such things as

You will need to join your local club
The function of a local club are similar to the state association but at the more local level
In SA & NT the state association also serves as the local club because we are small and heavily centred around Adelaide
However I would also encourage you to join or start a local club if you are very remote from Adelaide, please ask SAHPGA if we can help you in this endeavour
eg Alice springs and Darwin have local clubs but their membership fluctuates and may not be currently active
