Being appointed as one of the five project directors of the club was an honour to me. It was probably one of the few times when I was given a huge role and such a huge responsibility. I had mixed feelings as I was unsure if I could commit and if i could carry out my role well but I decided to give it a try and do my best in it.
The very first task as project directors would be to decide the direction that our club should take - whether we should focus on elderly or children as our beneficiaries. We held meetings as a club to decide on the direction which majority voted for children. After that, we had to look for the beneficiaries. This took up quite some time as we had to do research online and email the different children's home etc. for opportunities. We also had site-visits to look at the place and surroundings before deciding on our final beneficiary. There were some conflicts between the project directors in terms of preference as some of us would prefer beneficiary 'A' while others prefer 'B'. However, in the end we decided on the beneficiary that was more convenient for everyone in terms of distance from school.
Other tasks that project directors are responsible for would be to plan for the monthly activities which includes coming up with the proposals and liaising with the officers of the beneficiary. There were also monthly meetings to ensure that everyone is updated on what is going on in the club.
In conclusion, even though there were a lot of responsibilities as a project director, i was glad that i am given the chance to take up this role and to push the club forward to help and contribute to the society.
I have uploaded some proposals as an example for reference.
