"Cognitive decline is directly caused by breathing."

A new study discovered that cognitive performance is markedly decreased by a certain timing of the breathing cycle (i.e., the expiratory-to-inspiratory phase transition). This research paper has been reported in PLos One, titled "Respiratory modulation of cognitive performance during the retrieval process". https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0204021

These findings are suggested that adjusting breathing plays important roles not only in memory for the study but also improvement of performance for sports and driving a car, etc.
