Club Championship

From the Club Qualifier, James Inman earned 5.5/6.0 points and takes the 1st place seeding for the Championship rounds. Next, there was a 4-way tie with players that earned 4.5/6.0 points. Jerry Weikel, Joe Sinopoli, Bruce Gold, and George Fischer take seedings 2nd through 5th for the Championship rounds. 

This leaves 3 remaining spots for the Championship rounds. There was another 4-way tie from the qualifiers for players that scored 4.0/6.0 points. A version of the Buchholz System -- where each players' opponents' cumulative scores --  was used for this tie-break. Based on this tie-break, the 6th and 7th Championship seedings went to Sage Sjomeling and Ethan Carnes. 

The last and final spot for Championship rounds was partially determined by tie breaks; the Tournament Director and Reno Chess Club Board agreed, prior to the start of the Club Qualifier, to hold a fixed number of spots to top rated players in the Reno Chess Club. Aastik Grover was next in the tie-breaks and will be facing Fred Casten for the 8th and final spot in the Championship rounds.
