LibreOffice is available in several releases. The best release for you depends on your computer and your needs. For most applications, the still version is good. To try new features, the fresh version is good. If you are using a computer with an unusual or legacy processor architecture, you might not be able to run the newest version unless your distributor can provide it or you can compile it from source.

Updating a program might add or subtract features, or might change the way the program works. For example, updating LibreOffice to a container version like a Snap or a Flatpak might limit your ability to run extensions.
