Update the websites that the extension uses to translate and search to use more local resources for various regions and nations. For example, include baidu.com and so.com for regions that use Simplified Chinese. Add Google Scholar, WorldCat, and additional localized translation sites for regions that use English.
Developers can alter the sites that the extension displays in the main dialogue by editing the appropriate .po locale file.
Windows users who can not access the wscript.exe utility can now access the main dialog and the About dialog without enabling the application's Tools - Options - Advanced - Enable experimental features (May be unstable) checkbox.
When wscript.exe is not enabled as an optional Windows 11 feature, the extension shows an option to reset all the extension settings to their defaults and several options to use on-line web tools.

When using a web application option in the main menu on supported languages and platforms, Read Text Extension shows web linguistic and search tools that are most useful in the region. The URLs that start with ipv4 point to a test site for checking the integrity of the DNS network address lookup protocol. The pws=0 flag requests that the website not weigh your previous web searches in the search result.
Windows systems always show the main menu when you use the Tools - Add-ons - Read Selection… command, even if wscript.exe is not enabled.
