If you need further proof that Michael Phelps might need some out-of-the-pool help with ADHD consider this:
He risked millions of dollars in endorsements by letting someone take his photo smoking marijuana. If that’s not failing to consider consequences, I don’t know what is.
Moreover, he won’t take medication that’s been studied for more than 50 years, but he will mess with his brain chemistry by ingesting the modern marijuana that’s been engineered to be so concentrated in unstudied chemicals that it’s more likely to push the genetically vulnerable into schizophrenia. At the very least, he is risking addiction (always a higher risk with untreated ADHD) and more working-memory loss. Working memory is already in short supply with ADHD.
Too those who say you can always help a child deal with ADHD by “finding his/her passion,” I said watch what passions they might pursue.
