Aims and Scope
The nervous system plays an important role in the mechanism of communication and control for animals.
When the environmental change is detected, the body will be instructed to trigger adequate reactions. For
discovering a chain of the complex and secret functions of a brain or nervous systems, many countries
created related projects and generated a rich resource of interesting computational and informatics problems
and issues. Therefore, the editors want to bring the developmental experience of bioinformatics into the field
of neuroscience, which could find possible relationships among the huge and various data, and the
information can be further inferred to build the gripping knowledge. This special issue encompasses not only
the data engineering and informatics algorithms but also the gene expression and protein interactions in the
microcosmic molecule level and the behavior and physiology in the macrocosmic organism level.
Research Topics Covered (but not limited to)
Natural computing algorithms, Ontology, Databases, Data integration, Data analysis, Data modeling, Data
sharing, Data visualization, Computer simulation, Software tools, Semantic Web, Spectrum analysis of
physiological signals, Brain wave analysis, Cognitive neuroscience, Brain imaging data analysis,
Brain/Behavior analysis, Grasp and dexterous manipulation of robot hand, etc.
