We feel the presence of God in all materialistic things or humans beings depending on situation. So already He is known to us, but most of us don't have a specific introduction. We have to specifically reintroduce with Him. Does not make sense? Let's understand this fact with a short story -
A person came to visit Kolkata with his family and his only son, Khokon aged four. They all gone to visit a big fair, where somehow due to heavy rush of people the small boy got lost in the crowd. The parents became shattered in grief and sorrow when their son can't be found after thorough searching. Many years passed by. As a result the grief and sorrow has also gone diminishing in years. Still the pain of losing their son and not able to see him remained stuck in their heart like a thorn.
After some years, the person visited another place with his family where they met another family with their two sons, who also came to visit the place. Within a few days the two families got very close and intimate. Somehow this person got to know by their behavior and conversation that, one of their two son don't know his parents. He got to know more - fifteen years before, they found him crying in street beside a fair in Kolkata. He stayed with them since then as he is unable to tell his parents details when he is asked. Thereafter they tried to find his parents but with no result. Hence they kept him as their own son. Curiously this man asked if he had a gold chain engraved with name "Khokon", does he has a black spot in his left shoulder, etc. At last the mystery reveals - that boy is their lost son Khokon. Father and son got reintroduced newly and specifically when they hugged each other crying. The pain that accumulated all these years got released in this union.
Before the incident, the father met his son many times, even they got introduced before, they talked to each other number of times. Still the accumulated pain didn't got relieved because till then they didn't know that the boy is their lost son. Whenever they got to know that he is their own son, all the pain and sorrows relieved immediately. So the first introduction was not a specific one, and whenever they are specifically introduced all the pain and sorrows vanished. Likewise we need to get introduced to God specifically once again. In Srimad Bhagawat Gita, Sri Krishna as 'Guru' told Arjun as 'Sadhaka' in chapter eleven, verse eight:
N tu mang sakashe drastu manenoiba Swachakhusha |
dibang dadami te chakkhu pasyame Yogmoiswaram|
It means - dear Arjun, you will not be able to see me with your materialistic fleshy eyes. You need to have eyes like sky to see me. I am offering you eyes like sky, i.e. divine eyes full of knowledge. You see my Divine Glory of Yoga with the help of the miraculous eyes of knowledge. This eye is called Divine eye or Knowledgeable eye or Third eye. Though all of us have this eye but in closed state. It's needed to be open. A 'Sadguru' opens up the third eye of a 'Sadhaka'. By this eye true nature of God, and his delicate divinities may be realized. Hence, without the abundance and divine grace of 'SadGuru' it's impossible to enter inner kingdom of God and feel His fine and delicate divinity.
