शयाने ह्यो रात्रौ मयि समभवच्चिन्तनमिदम्
कथं प्राप्स्याम्यस्मिन् जगति तु मदीयात्मभवनम् ।
जलं यत्राशुष्कं भवति च तथा खाद्यमशिलम्
कृतो निर्धारो मे न खलु भवति भ्रान्तिरिह भोः ॥१॥
अत्रैकाकी कर्म कुर्वन् कदाचित्
नैवैकाकी ध्येयमाप्तुं समर्थः ।
नायं नायं कार्यशाली कथञ्चित्
नैवैकाकी ध्येयमाप्तुं समर्थः ॥२॥
अधीशा लक्षाणां कतिचन जनास्सन्ति भुवने
धनं लब्धं तैर्यन्न हि तदुपयोगाय भविता ।
कलत्राण्येतेषां विलपनरतान्येव सततम्
ह्यपत्यानां गानं भवति बहुधा शोककविता ॥ ३॥
महार्घा वैद्यास्सन्त्यपि च धनिकानां किल कृते
हृदां पाषाणानामुपशमनभैषज्यचतुराः ।
न खल्वत्रैकाकी जगति कुरुते कर्म सफलम्
न चैवात्रैकाकी तरति गहनक्लेशजलधिम् ॥४॥
विचिन्त्यैवं ज्ञातं यदिह मम हृच्चालकमिदम्
प्रवक्ष्याम्येकाग्राः श्रुणुत वचनं तत्त्वभरितम् ।
समागच्छन्त्यत्र प्रलयपरुषाः कालजलदाः
महाझञ्झावातः तुमुलनिनदैरत्र पवते ॥५॥
महत्क्लेशं प्राप्तं मनुजकुलमेवाद्य वहते
शृणोम्यत्रैतेषां विलपनमहो छिन्नहृदयम् ।
न खल्वत्रैकाकी जगति कुरुते कर्म सफलम्
न चैवात्रैकाकी तरति गहनक्लेशजलधिम् ॥६॥
