Star Flat

Data Taking:

• 1. Must be done under photometric conditions.

  2. Assume a 10x10 grid of observations.

     • move the same star to 100 different positions on the camera.

  3. Assume standard PreCam observations.

     • (g,r,i,z,y) = (36,51,65,162,73) = 387 + 5*20 = 487 seconds (call it 10 minutes/position)

  4. Six positions/hour, 10 hours/night = 60 positions.

  5. Devote 2 nights to Star Flat.

  6. The PreCam ObsTac will provide the list of positions and exposure times for the Star Flat.

Data Analysis:

• 1. This will be done with specialized code off-line.
