Hello Pondside Residents,
As you may have noticed this morning, NSTAR are starting electrical work on Beaufort Rd. This project means we need to be aware of the impact to us:
* Parking restrictions will obviously exist for the duration of the project.
* Engineers will require basement access to upgrade the electrical systems / shut off power.
The project manager has informed me that they will be contacting residents of affected buildings on the day of the outage by ringing everyones bell.
I've provided the project manager with the telephone contacts for RBrown and Jim Sisk, who he will contact to arrange basement access.
The following notice will be posted on every door on Beaufort Rd:
To the residents of Beaufort Rd.
NSTAR Electric is in the final phase of upgrading the underground electric distribution system in your neighorhood. We require access to your basement in order to install a new electric service.
Please contact Norman Bruso, Project Leader, at 339-987-7749 or visit the NSTAR crew working on the street to schedule an appointment for electric service replacement. Work will be completed in the street if we are unable to gain access to any residence.
Work is weather dependent as NSTAR rules prohibit performing non-emergency "live" electrical work in wet conditions. Electric service replacements are normally completed within 90 minutes.
Additional information from Jim Sisk:
NSTAR has provided more specifics on the impact to residents. Other than the parking ban that applies to all cars on Beaufort Road, the current scope of work includes all of Beaufort Road and 33 Lakeville Road. 7 through 31 Lakeville Road are not part of the scope. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, November 21 and proceeding through Monday, November 25, they will change the mains feeding into the buildings. Management will provide access into the building basements and no access into units is required. Residents only need to be prepared to be without power for a relatively short period of time.
They will begin at the pond end of the road and work their way back up the road towards Centre Street. Their intent was to lift the parking ban in areas that they complete that day. Continue to heed their posted signs and do not rely on this note to make your parking decisions. Three addresses will be completed on each of the first two days and two addresses on the last. See the schedule below for the date and approximate time of your address's work. They will ring doorbells before power is disconnected to alert residents at home that the power is going off. The time your unit will be without power can be from 60-90 minutes but they may be able to pear it down to as little as 45 minutes. The schedule is as follows:
Time Thu, Nov. 21 Fri, Nov. 22 Mon, Nov. 25
9:00-10:30 am 30 Beaufort 26 Beaufort 10 Beaufort
11:30-1:00 pm 33 Lakeville 24 Beaufort 6 Beaufort
2:00-3:30 pm 28 Beaufort 16 Beaufort
The flip-flop of 30 Beaufort and 33 Lakeville on tomorrow's schedule is correct.
