Discounts

One of the many advantages of a cohesive neighborhood is the ability to negotiate discounts. Anyone can look into acquiring a discount for Pinewood. Simply find out what the offer is and how the residents may obtain the discount (for example, is a copy of a coupon/card required, or is mentioning "Pinewood Discount" adequate). This information can then be sent out to the Pinewood residents via e-mail and in newsletters. Keep in mind that the most realistic discounts are on fixed price goods or services. Discounts for services that vary from job to job, such as paving, may offer small discounts, but it is difficult to know what you are really saving .... but it can't hurt to ask. Here are some of the discounts currently offered to Pinewood Residents. The discounts are not automatic; you have to ask for them!

Bundy's septic pumping discount was set up for $190 per house and $20 if you need you cover dug out. Another septic pumping discount was set up with with Enviro-Tech for $190 also with $55 charge for cover to be dug out. With Enviro-Tech, call them and mention Caroline Webster's name and Pinewood. If you would like to go with Bundy's, I have May 20, 21, 22,23 & 24, and June 20 dates scheduled (2013) with them and I can add you to any day if you would like me to. Cooperative Insurance Company of VT is offering a 10% discount to Pinewood residents on auto, boat, homeowners, umbrella liability, etc. This is available through the Titus Insurance Agency in Shelburne, VT. Becoming Peace Center for Yoga & Massage in Pinewood Plaza is offering a 10% discount to Pinewood Manor residents for the following services:

- Regular 8 Class Yoga Session

- Massage 1 hour full body

Inn At Essex – The Inn at Essex has offered to continue the "Pinewood Family & Friends" package previously set up be Pinewood residents Jim and Judi Lamberti. Here's how it works: When family or friends come to visit they can use the Inn at a 20% discount off normal room rates, subject to availability. They cannot make the offer for times when the Inn is 100% booked (fall foliage for example), so you must call the Inn to check availability, and identify yourself and your address as a Pinewood resident, and make the reservation.

Oil and Propane Discounts - Suburban Fuels has offered a neighborhood discount each year for our oil and propane. A discount of $.05/gallon is offered as a discount to Pinewood residents in addition to any other discounts (i.e. prompt payment, senior, ceiling price). You need to request this discount when contracting with Agway McEwing Fuels, typically in June or July.

Lang Farm & Nursery - Lang Farm & Nursery in Essex offers a preferred customer discount of 10% to Pinewood residents. Discount excludes delivery, landscape design & labor. It cannot be combined with other sales or discounts. To get the discount, stop in and ask for your Preferred Discount Card for Pinewood residents.
