Grading has two basic functions: monitoring progress and encouraging effort. Effort will be graded based on assignments that can include assistance from others. However, under no circumstance is anyone (including parents!) to do the work for the student. This is considered cheating and appropriate consequences will result. Exams will be used to determine mastery. Exams are a form of assessment where there is no assistance. Also, extra credit will be limited in scope. One easy source of extra credit are the Class Dojo points associated with the Conduct Grades. Completing all assignments will have a much greater effect on a student's grade than extra credit.
The following scale will be used to determine report card grades:
90 to 100% A
80 to 89% B
70 to 79% C
60 to 69% D
0 to 59% F
Grades are based on the following:
75% Assessment
25% Assignments
