Role in the Stories: Kind, friendly, and a level-headed businessman, Daniel Conway is still president of Cal-Texas Explorations. He carries on a mostly long-distance romantic relationship with Amelia Armitage, a Texas stockholder whose family owns 37% of the company.
Warner Griffith is still on ill terms with Daniel, several years after their unwanted (on Daniel's part) proxy war started. He may or may not have something to do with the events that mix Daniel up in the same twisted case that has been plaguing Amory Fallon and Lieutenant Anderson.
Although Daniel bears a striking resemblance to Deputy Sampson, both of them insist that there is very little resemblance and are puzzled when anyone suggests otherwise.
