Reason for appearance: I was having trouble with the story stalling all over the place and I thought maybe I could breathe a little life into it by having Steve visit these two (former) jewel thieves for information. Steve is the main policeman in my stories about them, instead of using police from The Rockford Files. They did end up providing the clue that sent the fic spiraling towards the climax at last!
