Shadow Series (index)

Basics

Relationship between Shadow and Sonic

Though Shadow tricks usually possess 1.5 rotations, those with rotations of 1.5 or more or less can also be feasible. Shadow may be considered to be the analog of Sonic without finger hold during the migration of the pen from one fingerslot to another. In fact, Shadow 1.5 used to be treated as and called 'Sonic 1.5' since Shadow could be thought of as Sonic successfully with 1.5 rotations, however, considering Sonic as trick which can involve only 1.0 rotation is predominant now. Consequently, if the pen needs be once released from one fingerslot to travel to another Sonic-spinning, the trick should be called Shadow. In addition, the number of rotations is not responsible for determining if it is a Sonic or Shadow trick. Shadow tricks with its rotations less than 1.5 are also performable. For example, Shadow 1.0 12-T1 is sometimes seen in combos, in which the pen spins freely migrating from 12 to T1 slot - notice that it must not be Sonic 1.0 12-T1 as the pen is not held by fingers during the migration at all.

Variations of NeoBackaround

Pen Pinning Trick Directory does not currently consider difference between ordinary (Korean) NeoBackaround and original NeoBackaround of David Weis.

Although migration of the pen into or catching it in an en-fingerslot will be more difficult than that from an en-fingerslot, Pen Pinning Trick Directory dare count those tricks as possible ones.

Definition of Basketball Spin

In Pen Spinning Trick Directory, any Top spin tricks involving the pen's spins on the tip of fingers are classified into Basketball Spin tricks, without regard to ways of pushing the pen.

Definition of Spider Spin

Pen Spinning Trick Directory treats Spider Spin as a Top spin trick in which the pen spins on top of the back of folded fingers with the palm up, without regard to how the pen is pushed. This unique pose during the pen spinning on the outside of fingers looks just like the one of Spider-Man's hand in the movie Spider-Man, which seems to have resulted in the name of the trick - It does not mean that the pen spins on a spider, and so the name should be Spider Spin, not "Spiderspin".
