Artifact: End-of-Semester Reflection Essay for LIS 764-Library User Instruction class (please see attached file)
Explanation Paragraph:
In Library User Instruction class, we started by studying learning theories. In those initial class sessions, I encountered many important insights about how learning happens. We then put those principles into action by giving instructional sessions. At the end of the semester, I had an assignment of writing a reflection essay. It was a great chance for me to think about my experiences facilitating instruction, both in this class, as well as in teaching Religious Education class. Furthermore, in writing this reflection essay, I thought back upon how I had developed my instructional skills throughout the course of the semester, by applying principles to creating an effective instruction environment. One notable area I reflected on how I developed in the process of designing instruction, through the USER document, which is a technique that helps enhance my instruction to help others in the process of gaining knowledge.
