Artifact: Association Presentation on Atmospheric Science Librarian International for LIS 701-Introduction to Library and Information Science (please refer to attached file)

Explanation Paragraph:

I opted to create a presentation on Atmospheric Science Librarians International (or ASLI) for my association presentation for ILIS. I met a representative of this organization at the 2013 Annual American Meteorological Society meeting, and it planted a seed that eventually led to my decision to study for my MLIS. Compiling this presentation was a chance for me to learn more about this organization, and reflect on what first inspired me to pursue my MLIS and what my career goals are in the field of LIS, which I spoke of in reflective terms at the end of the presentation. It furthermore helped me understand the work that special librarians do, which broadened my view of the field of library and information science, beyond the more visible roles of institutions like public libraries. Included here is the PowerPoint presentation with the slides. The assignment I originally submitted had a recording of my voice and automatic advancing of the slides.
