Explanation Paragraph:

In Management of Libraries and Information Centers class, I decided to write, for my midterm essay, a profile of the library media centers at the two public middle schools in Oak Park, IL. In the process of writing this essay, I went to visit both libraries, and interviewed their respective teacher-librarians to learn more about what happens at them, and how they run them. I gained perspectives on how they tailor the materials and services they provide to specially meet the needs and interests of the middle school communities, especially in maintaining a collection of relevant materials, and instructional sessions which help students see the library media center as a valuable resource for their schooling.
