My Certifications I Desire:
This paper will introduce to the reader what areas of interest I have within my field of work and will tell of what certifications I have earned or will plan on earning along the process of getting my degree. 3. 4 Credits in Distributed Java Programming
4. 4 Credits in Enterprise Java Programming
The reason why I plan to implement getting these Certifications is because I plan to get into project management and hopefully upper IT Management within the company I qualify for. But, I also want to get involved and specialize I writing programs codes for Security packets, Firewalls and possibly binary codes for Network units such as routers, switches and Servers as well. In my plans of success I what to get to know all about what I am working with so I feel it is best for me to earn the Certifications for these areas of expertise. Although my plans of getting these certifications may change based on what is easier for me to do and what is more time efficient, this to me is a good starting point so I know what to shoot for.
To explain a little bit about the certifications I am planning to obtain, these certifications are very unique in a sense that they grant an extension on to your degree to give you the persona that you are a specialist in that certain segment of the field of work you’re in aside of being well educated and well training in your field of work which is what the Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree identifies on the behalf of the educated individual. The first Certification I will go for after my degree is the Java Programming Certification, which I believe that if I manage to get my degree, will be easy because two of the classes I need to get that certification will be completed already from my degree. The Java Programming Certification certifies that you have knowledge in the Java Programming part of the IT field and that you are well capable of programming in Java through the various forms of Java Programming. Whether it would be Java Programming itself, Advanced Java Programming, which is the more complex forms of Java Programming, Distributed Java Programming or Enterprise Java Programming, which is more geared towards Core programming and learning the assents of core language in Java.
After that Certification I figure on shooting for the IT Project Management Certification because it implements certain core duties in putting together IT plans for the work place, which in fact is very big because it affects the entire outlook of the office environment. I want to be a part of that outlook change; I want to be a part of a management team that helps shape and mold how the business looks and operates and have the satisfaction of knowing that I helped make that difference. I also want to have that sense of responsibility of being in charge and having a leadership role that is why I want to try achieving the IT Project management Certification, so I can officially qualify for an IT management position.
Next on my list is a toss-up but seeing that the Information Security has less requirements to obtain that certification; I would probably go for that certification after the IT Project management Certificate because it gears towards one of my specialties which is security, it involves implementation of a number of Security procedures for computer systems and networks. It involves setting up, troubleshooting and programming computerized systems and equipment as well as setting up firewalls, continuity planning for establishments, networks and systems as well.
Last but not least, the CompTIA Certifications which will be tough to obtain because of the tedious, strenuous work the individual has to go through to obtain this certification. It involves a little bit of everything, but mostly concentrates its discipline on Server, Security, Networking and a little bit of hardware troubleshooting. But a definite more advanced form of Information Security, and Network Technologies Certification. This certification will definitely help me to become the jack of all trades in the Information Technology field because of all the extensive training involved in the process of receiving this certification.
Overall, I feel that I have made the right choices in the certifications I want to obtain for the field of work I want to get into, which I plan to less work more hands on with the networking team of any company I work for. I want to be able to program encryptions for the networks of the company I work for, but I plan to continue on with my education and if things work out well possibly go for a double major, one in programming and one in networking because I like both, but for now I am just concentrating on programming first and then see where my journey takes me into the field of Information Technology.
