About the Rank
Webelos, meaning "WE'll BE LOyal Scouts," is for fourth graders who have earned the Bobcat badge. The program is more challenging and includes pack meetings, den activities, and outdoor fun. Webelos Scouts can earn Adventure Pins anytime, including for the Webelos and Arrow of Light ranks.

Uniform costs are not included in membership and can be purchased in-person or online.
Your scout needs a rank-appropriate uniform and handbook they will use throughout the year. Rank-specific shopping lists (including optional items) can be found below. These items can be purchased in-person or online at a Scout Shop. There are three locations in the area:

The official handbook is a Scout’s guide to their year in Cub Scouting. It is where they can find everything they need to complete requirements and many other Family Scouting activities.

The Webelos Cub Scout uniform has the following parts:
Shirt: The official blue uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets.
Pants: Shorts, long pants, skorts, and roll up pants all are in official blue.
Belt: Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle.
Socks: Official socks are available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee. Bear socks have a yellow band on the top.
Hat: Official green hat with Webelos plaid front and Webelos emblem.
Neckerchief: Webelos plaid triangular neckerchief with Webelos logo.
Neckerchief Slide: Official gold-tone metal slide with Webelos emblem.
Adventures Colors: The Adventure Colors are worn on the right sleeve to display the Webelos Adventure Pins that have been earned.
Patches You’ll need to Buy:
Scout Emblem (World Crest Ring Emblem + 1910 World Crest Ring Emblem)
Council Patch (Central North Carolina Council)
Pack Numbers (Cub Scout Unit Numeral 5 + Cub Scout Unit Numeral 3)
Flag comes sewn onto shirt already
Official uniform pants, shorts, and Cub Scout socks are optional.
Additionally, you may choose to purchase the Cub Scout six essentials and other camping/hiking gear (i.e. a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat) from any outdoor store.

To earn the Webelos badge of rank, you must complete six required Adventures and any two elective Adventures.
