The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and the only one worn on a Scouts BSA uniform. Scouts work on outdoor skills, fitness, citizenship, and teamwork. After completing Arrow of Light requirements, Scouts can transition to a Scouts BSA troop. Webelos working toward this rank are called Arrow of Light Scouts.
They must earn the Bobcat rank first and complete Arrow of Light requirements. Both Webelos and Arrow of Light can be worked on simultaneously but must be earned and presented in sequence.
For Ages 10/11 or 5th Grade
Uniform costs are not included in membership and can be purchased in-person or online.
Your scout needs a rank-appropriate uniform and handbook they will use throughout the year. Rank-specific shopping lists (including optional items) can be found below. These items can be purchased in-person or online at a Scout Shop. There are three locations in the area:
In-person: Carolina Scout Shop (2121 Westinghouse Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273)
Online: Scout Shop
The official handbook is a Scout’s guide to their year in Cub Scouting. It is where they can find everything they need to complete requirements and many other Family Scouting activities.
Scouts working toward their Arrow of Light Ranks are beginning the transition from Cub Scouts to the Scouts BSA Program.
