Cub Scouts is the BSA program for K-5th graders. New families often ask how Scouts progress in Pack 53. There are six ranks, starting with Lions for kindergarteners, who meet less often for fun, age-appropriate activities. The ranks are:

Cub Scouts progress by grade, earning age-appropriate ranks without needing previous ones. Requirements grow tougher as they advance, building skills along the way.

Class A uniform (must be purchased separately) - Consists of official blue uniform shirt (Lions/Tigers/Wolves/Bears) or tan uniform shirt (Webelos, AOL/Arrows of Light), rank belt, Are required for all official events, and should also be worn during flag raising/lowering at campouts.
Class B "T-Shirt" uniform - your scout will receive a free Pack 53 blue "Class B" after completing the online registration, and it is typically worn to casual events.
