What to Bring
Here is a recommended Camping Equipment List (for you and your scout)
Contact the Pack/Den Leader if you need assistance with any equipment or camping supplies
BSA Medical Form
All individuals (scouts and family members) MUST complete the medical form (pages 1, 2 and including medical cards copys) below before attending any camping trips or outings. Please complete the following form and submit it in one of the two following ways:
Print a copy and hand it to any leader at a pack/den meeting
OR
Save the completed file and email it as an attachment to waxhawpack53@gmail.com.

IMPORTANT: Class A & Class B Uniforms (Cub Scout/Leader)
IMPORTANT: Mess kit – cup, plate, bowl, spoon, fork, knife (or “spork”)
IMPORTANT: Cub Scout Six Essentials for Hiking Quick List (First Aid Kit, Water Bottle, Flashlight, Trail Food, Sun Protection, Whistle)
IMPORTANT: Extra socks and closed-toe shoes (BSA rules)
Sleeping pad/mattress
Pillow
Camping Chairs
Flash lights (Preferably head lamps – less likely to get lost) with extra batteries
Hat (Knit if camping during fall)
Change of clothes – in case of water or food accident
Appropriate Scout book
Sleep clothes
Water bottle filled with water at home. There will be water at the site but most people prefer at least to start on home water.
Toiletries – toothpaste, toothbrush, soap and towel. We are never away long enough to worry about showers
Long pants
Fleece or other warm top
Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes
Rain Gear
Personal medication
Camp chair per person
Swim suit if water activity is part of campout
Food for Friday dinner (on your own)
Each Family:
Tent
Stakes
Mallet (or a good rock)
Ground tarp (to prevent moisture from getting into your tent)
Sunscreen
Bug Spray
Wet wipes for quick hand cleaning/Hand Sanitizer
Toilet Paper
Cooler for lunches/personal drinks/snacks
Trash bag
First Aid Kit
NOTE: If you have any difficulty obtaining any items on this list but are still interested in camping with Pack 53, please see your den leader or any of the pack leaders. It is more than likely someone will have extra gear available that you can borrow

Shade awning
Folding table
Mallet (to hammer in tent stakes)
Pillows
Extra blankets/bag liner
Cooler of extra snacks
Camera
Tent fan
Balls, frisbees, etc.
Broom (to clean tent before take down)

Books, card games, magazines
Reminders: Per BSA Policy, open-toed shoes are not permitted at BSA events. This includes Adults & Children. Additionally, no consumption of alcohol or use of tobacco products is permitted at BSA events.
Per Pack 53 Policy, no electronic devices except for Adult Cell Phones are permitted at campouts, i.e., no Game Boys, DS’s, PSPs, etc.
