he Lion program focuses on character, leadership, fitness, and citizenship through fun, age-appropriate activities for Scouts and parents. Lions work with their adult partners and earn the Bobcat badge by completing Lion activities.

Uniform costs are not included in membership and can be purchased in-person or online.
Your scout needs a rank-appropriate uniform and handbook they will use throughout the year. Rank-specific shopping lists (including optional items) can be found below. These items can be purchased in-person or online at a Scout Shop. There are three locations in the area:

The official handbook is a Scout’s guide to their year in Cub Scouting. It is where they can find everything they need to complete requirements and many other Family Scouting activities.

The Lion Cub Scout uniform has the following parts:
Shirt: The official Lion t-shirt.
Belt: Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle.
Cap: Official navy-blue Lion cap.
Neckerchief: Optional Lion neckerchief. The Lion den decides if they will wear the neckerchief.
Neckerchief Slide: Optional Lion neckerchief slide.
Official uniform pants, shorts, or skorts, and Cub Scout socks are optional. Use of these items for Lions is decided by the den leader and families in the den. There is no uniform inspection sheet for Lions.

Scout Emblem (World Crest Ring Emblem + 1910 World Crest Ring Emblem)
Council Patch (Central North Carolina Council)
Pack Numbers (Cub Scout Unit Numeral 5 + Cub Scout Unit Numeral 3)

Official uniform pants, shorts, and Cub Scout socks are optional. Use of these items for Lions is decided by the den leader and families in the den. There is no uniform inspection for Lions.
Additionally, you may choose to purchase the Cub Scout six essentials and other camping/hiking gear (i.e. a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat) from any outdoor store.
To earn the Lion badge of rank, you must complete six required Adventures and any two elective Adventures.
