Subterranean Community Development

 About Us

Subterranean Community Development proposes to use TBMs (tunnel boring machines) to core out "main street tunnels" in regions of the world with challenging climates.  This facilitates development along either side of the tunnel where conventional excavation can yield a series of livable underground spaces.  These underground spaces - naturally cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter - would be useful in both tropical and arctic regions.

What makes it interesting?

$10 million per bored mile (best rate per Boring Co website ) and 5280 ft per mile / 20 foot frontages = 264 residences/mile...  so $10 million divided by 264  equals about $40k per 20' frontage section ... or $20k per 20' frontage section  if split on either side of main bore as typical "main street" layout.
