Dr Adams your opinion and statements as a commentary on "research" are at odds with international Domestic Violence Experts findings and are a faulty interpretation on the hard data available to you from recent initiatives here in NZ.

Fully 50 % of DV is conducted by Women. Women inflict just as much damage on children, if not more, in sessions of unreasoned loss of control during episodes of conflict. Ignoring this truth allows violent women to be "sheltered" by the system and continue to perpetrate and inflict damage on their children as some sort of partner provocation.

Dr Donald Dutton, of UBC Vancouver is widely published in DV Journals world wide and has demonstrated by applied research that DV is gender neutral, the "Treatment system" we use, the Duluth Model is an unscientific methodology and it violates Patient Ethics with is implementation.

Articles like this that are Gender biased are such an unfortunate thing to read as they simply reflect the highly politicised nature of the intellectual mind trap you and many before you have created to captivate your objectivity. A course in Critical analysis refresher may be a prescription for you attitude on this issue.
