Sir Owen Glenn: Killing of children still the issue

1) Why is it that between seven and 10 children, on average, are killed in New Zealand each year by someone who is supposed to be caring for them?

A masterful question, after some 20-30 years of experimentation we have had absolutely no effect this baseline average. And please note the carer is often female, not male.

DuttonandCorvo.pdf

to quote Dr Dutton....from his conclusions about Evidence Based Procedure, the link is below the quote.

"The current best evidence clearly does not support investing substantial

public funds in the continuation, let alone the mandating, of the standard

DV program model. In the face of overwhelming countervailing evidence,

why does this model persist? There is no scientific reason why causal

explanations of DV and the principles of perpetrator treatment should exist

outside the biopsychosocial framework used to understand and address

contemporary mental health and social problems. In some sense, then, the

political issues in the policy framework "trump" the science to a greater

degree perhaps than in most other social problems."

The system we use, based on DULTH, has been shown to be a faulty and flawed concept. It is the wrong solution for the wrong group of people in the wrong place at the wrong time. There is no Clinical Indication to run an Interventional social programme, the gold standard is Relationship Counselling , of which we have side-lined and seriously underfunded.

Only 4% of so called DV incidents are generated by people with genuine disorders. The rest is just usual "jostling" and resolves itself with out external Intervention.

These are some of the widely published findings from Professor Dutton of UBC, probably the Worlds foremost Intimate Violent Partner researcher, showing the Duluth system even violates patient Ethics.

2) How come 152,800 care and protection notifications (triggered by police callouts) were made to Child, Youth and Family in the 12 months to June 30 last year?

We now report at a far lower threshold than ever in an attempt to keep pouring resources at the faulty programme, Ponzi scheme, we run as stated above.

As detailed in the above papers by Professor Dutton, about 4% of relationship violence stems from 4% of the participants with Personality disorders. We choose to Intervene in 96% of normal peoples "jostling" and pour gasoline on the fire with Protection orders, unilateral denial of access and a multitude of other destructive state interventions in a situation that would normally simply resolve itself.

We have underfunded conventional Relationship Counselling in favour of faulty Duluth Interventional programme and wonder why the statistics around the issue look like they are increasing.

3) What kind of society is it where for the five years to June last year, violent offences towards children increased by a staggering 84 per cent?

See above.

Remember the real issue , the child deaths, have remained static through all of this. You are getting hung up on the reporting of so called violent events that have been hyped up to justify continuing with the faulty Interventional programme,

Your 80 Million channelled to assist conventional Relationship counselling would make a huge impact on many peoples lives, rather than be frittered away on Academics with an ideological mind-set looking to justify their faulty thinking. Don't start me on Dr Neville Robertson's view that early 1820's Missionaries caused a Maori Patriarchy that lead to this current situation in Maoridom, some of the most Racist and derogatory thinking I have ever come across, and Owen, you take advise from theses people !

If you want a pointer here, examine the track record of Titiwhai Hawera and her abusive behaviour to anyone that crosses her path, and grasp that abusive behaviour is quite common in Maoridom and can be dressed up with romantic phrases such as "Female Warriors" and similar nonsense. Here is most likely the basis of understanding the particular segment's statistical representation of this issue.

Again please look at the work of Professor Dutton and others like him, I asked you to do this nearly a year ago and predicted to you the outcome you are now experiencing.

Why abuse project broke down in tears

Ms Herbert jumped at the chance, and by the time the inquiry was announced in September its focus had broadened from child abuse to include domestic violence - the issue she has campaigned on for much of her life.

"Seventy per cent of the child abuse cases also have domestic violence happening, mostly the father abusing the mother," she explained.

No Ruth, Fully 50% of all DV incidents are Female instigated. Ms Herbert has Rose Coloured Glasses still and shows her Feminist bias and baggage on this issue. Evidence Based Procedure is failing to deliver any vision or Strategy here and has been hijacked by the choice of the Duluth Model. She was instrumental in the service delivery of the failed system to the NZ government so it should come as no surprise you have had the same issues with her in your employ. The process of Evidence base Process as applied to this issue is shown by Professor Dutton to even violate Medical Ethics.

What I really object to is the superior Feminist attitude that poor defenceless victimised women are constantly being abused by their partners and this is the only dimension researchers such as Ruth seem to be able to grasp. No mention of the atrocities by many women against their children, such as the Nia Glassie case or even most likely the high profile Kahu Twins. This legitimising of female aggression by obscuring it as victimisation is just more gasoline to further enflame the issue.
