CLASS C-1

C-1-a 213 later 1643 Rhode Island 1891. On the Woonasquatucket River bridge at the RILW in Providence.

218 was built by Rhode Island in 1891 and became C-1-a 1648. Norwalk 1904.

Old Colony 232 was a Lauder Cross Compound built by Old Colony Shops in 1891 and retired in 1923.

It was rebuilt in 1900 and became C-1-b 1650. Roxbury Shops.

CLASS C-2

Old Colony 110 "Dorchester" was built by Old Colony Shops in 1881, rebuilt in 1895, became C-2 1658 and was reired in 1923.

C-2 849 later 1662 ex Old Colony 249 Manchester 1893. Probably at the Roxbury Shops.

C-2 1681 ex 833 and Old Colony 233 OC Shops 1891. At Taunton

C-2 1697 was New York, Providence & Boston 40 "J.W.Miller" which for a time was equipped with a trailing axle to reduce the weight on the drivers and thus was a 4-4-2 type.


C-2 1701 was built by Old Colony Shops in 1886 and was retired in 1923. Readville 1920.

Old Colony 157 was built by Mason in 1884 as B&P 4, became C-2 1702 and was retired in 1917. Roxbury Shops.

C-2 1705 was built by Rhode Island in 1880 as NYP&B 27 and was retired in 1917. Worcester Union Station.

CLASS C-3

C-3-c 629 was built by Rhode Island in 1903 renumbered 1532 the next year and was retired in 1929.

C-3-c 1535 was built by Rhode Island in 1903 and was retired in 1928. South Boston May 30, 1922.

C-3-c 1540 was built by Rhode Island in 1903 and retired in 1926. Tender is cut back and cab is enclosed.

C-3-c 1546 was built by Rhode Island in 1903. Train is arriving at Blackstone from Providence.

C-3-b 1584 was built by South Boston Shop in 1901 and retired in 1928. Boston December 1911.

C-3-b 638 was renumbered 1593. Built by South Boston Shops 1899. Scrapped in 1927. Boston.




C-3-b 1599 ex 654 South Boston Shops 1898. At New Haven with the wire train in 1933.

C-3-a 1613 was built by the New Haven Shop in 1900 and retired in 1925.

103 "Venus" was built by Hartford Shops in 1882, was rebuilt in 1898, became C-3-a 1620 and was retired in 1925.

107 was built by Hartford Shops in 1883, rebuilt in 1897, became C-3-a 1622 and was retired in 1926.

CLASS C-4

C-4-b 1081 later1653 Rogers 1892. Was New York & New England 181.

New York & New England 183 was built by Rogers in 1892, became C-4-b 1655, and was retired in 1923.

New York, Providence & Boston 32 became NYNH&H C-5 332 later 1657 Rhode Island 1882. At the Stonington wharf station.

C-9 1797 was built by New Haven Shops in 1878 and retired in 1919. New Haven 1917.
